Statement of Wymondham Town Council Governance Review Group
In July 2016, Wymondham Town Council set up a Working Group, including independent representatives, to review the Council’s governance arrangements and suggest improvements to ensure the Council operates in an open and transparent way moving forward. We are now inviting members of the public to discuss our findings with us before we present them to the Town Council.
The Group’s work was focussed on three key areas –
- Standing Orders and Decision Making Processes;
- The Council’s relationship with the Public and how it communicates; and
- The internal relationships and roles of the Councillors and the Clerk.
The Group has now concluded its preliminary work and has formulated a draft report which includes recommendations to Wymondham Town Council. Before the report is presented to the Council, the Group is holding a public meeting in order to receive final comments from residents and interested parties. At the meeting, the Group will present the recommendations and seek feedback, which will be debated and reviewed before we the report is finalised.
The meeting will be held on Monday 6 February 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Robert Kett Primary School. The meeting will take place in one of the classrooms and there will be someone available to show you to the room.
The agenda and draft report will be available on Wymondham Town Council’s website: http://wymondhamtc.norfolkparishes.gov.uk/.
